A “Digital Imaging Technician” (D.I.T) is the camera department crew member responsible for securing, verifying, triplicating, logging and performing strict quality control of all digital data created on-set.  This provides the Director of Photography and Producer’s the assurance of the digital camera negatives quality and safety.


A D.I.T. can also provide on-set digital work-flow continuity, perform live and/or post digital magazine color-grading and “look” creation, perform any/all on-set image manipulation, create, manage and deliver crucial meta-data and reports, perform external audio recording sync, create “first light” color-correct digital dailies, trans-code off-line and/or on-line digital post-production deliverables for editorial and VFX and can troubleshoot any/all camera or on-set data work-flow issues that might arise.
